Crypto market falls after Binance hack: Bitcoin near $77,000

30 Oct 2026 morning (around 8 AM IST) according to CoinGecko data, Bitcoin was at around $77,151, down approximately 3.3% in 24 hours. Ethereum was at around $2,211 (down approximately 3.8%) and Binance's own token BNB was at around $713 (down approximately 4.3%).
This drop came after news of a major hack on Binance on 29 Oct (full story in our previous post). There are varying estimates of how much money was lost, and no final figure has been confirmed yet.

When a major exchange gets hacked, fear spreads across the entire crypto market: people withdraw or sell their funds, and the exchange's own token gets hit the hardest.
