BoJ decision today, along with Europe GDP and US ECI data
क्या हुआ
Today, 30 Oct 2026, the Bank of Japan (BoJ) two-day meeting decision is due. Currently, BoJ's policy rate is 1.25% (raised in September, highest since 1995). Reports from Nikkei and Kyodo suggest the rate may be kept at 1.25%, but there could be hints of a hike in December (these are reports, the decision is yet to come). USD/JPY was around 157.5 in the morning.
Other important data today (IST, as per calendar, times may vary):
• 11:00 AM: BoJ press conference (Governor Ueda)
• 12:59 PM: Germany preliminary CPI
• 2:30 PM: Germany preliminary GDP
• 3:30 PM: Eurozone flash GDP and unemployment
• 6:00 PM: US Employment Cost Index (ECI) and Canada GDP
• 9:30 PM and 10:00 PM: Fed members Daly and Musalem speeches
इसका मतलब
BoJ = Japan's central bank. Yen (JPY) moves sharply on its decisions and the Governor's words, and USD/JPY is among the most traded pairs in the world. ECI shows how much US companies' spending on salaries and benefits has increased, meaning it's a part of inflation.
Lesson: During high-impact news, spread widens and price can move sharply in either direction. For new traders, checking the calendar before news and staying cautious during that time is a good habit. This is for understanding only, not buy/sell advice.
