US GDP grew 3.4%, PCE inflation reached 3.6%
क्या हुआ
On 29 Oct 2026, data from the US Commerce Department was released. In the third quarter (Q3), US GDP grew at 3.4% (annualized), compared to the estimate of 3.1% and 2.2% in Q2.
Alongside, September's PCE inflation (the Fed's preferred measure) rose 0.5% for the month, the largest increase since March. Annual headline PCE stood at 3.6% and core PCE (excluding food and energy) at 3.1%. Consumer spending increased 0.5% and weekly jobless claims fell to 194,000.
इसका मतलब
GDP = how much the country's economy grew. PCE = how much prices rose for the things people spend on. The Fed's target is 2% inflation, and 3.1% core PCE is well above that.
When growth is strong and inflation remains elevated, the market starts thinking the Fed won't cut interest rates soon, and may even raise them. Sharp movements in the Dollar (DXY), gold and major pairs are common on such data, so spreads also widen during data releases. This is for understanding only, not buy/sell advice.
